ROUTE: We meet year round, rain or shine (snow, wind, hail, whatever!). Run route is a standard 3 mile out and back on the VERY SCENIC paved trail through the Franklin parks. We alternate using the west direction one week and the east direction the next week. We meet in the parking lot at Franklin Parks and Rec, 396 Branigan Blvd., Franklin.
The FIRST Tuesday of each month: is "Timed Mile Night" - for those that want to participate. Roy sets up the big time clock and we run or walk (or run AND walk) an out and back timed mile at 5:30 p.m. Some people arrive a little early and do a warm up run - some people run afterwards as well. We award colored beads to you depending on your finish time. We have a lot of fun collecting the beads! Categories are: 5:00-6:00, 6:00-6:30, 6:30-7:00, 7:00-7:30, 7:30-8:00, 8:00-8:30, 8:30-9:00, 9:00-10:00, 10:00 and over. The timed mile is OPTIONAL - of course you can come to running and just do the regular training run if you wish!
Hungry?: We almost always go out to dinner after the training run. We travel either by foot or car to a Franklin location for dinner and a BEER! Feel free to join us any time!
3 Miles not enough or too much for you? Routes are easily adjustable to make the distance longer or shorter.
We keep track of attendance each week and the top 10 runners with the best attendance win an award at the end of the year!
