Tickets on sale! We have 360 seats available for the July 25th show at The Strand. Last year we SOLD OUT. If you want a guaranteed seat, you should purchase your ticket in advance. Tickets are $3 each and will be available at the Mickey's T-Mart or Mac's Music. You can purchase tickets at the door on 7/25 but when the 360 seats are full, The Strand closes it's doors.
Shirts! New this year! We will be offering SI t-shirts for sale this year, and you can pre-order one of those on line or at one any of the shows. You can see a picture of the shirt here. Price will be $15.00 per shirt and will contain ALL THE NAMES of the semi-finalists and winners of ShelbyIdol 2009. More on this later. Order a Shirt
July 25th, 2009 SHOW: Each open division singer will sing TWO songs - Juniors sing ONE song. We will have REHEARSAL for this show on Tuesday, July 21st at 7:00 p.m. at The Strand. This rehearsal is MANDATORY because we will be doing two GROUP numbers (including all 6 finalists and the two juniors). One group number will open the show on 7/25 and one group number will close it. You will also be given an opportunity to run through your songs on 7/21 after the group rehearsal. There will be NO rehearsal before the show on 7/25. You should arrive at The Strand by 6:30 p.m. on 7/25 for the show. At this show the Judges will be picking the winners for 2009 - one junior and one open division singer. Please PREPARE YOURSELF to lose! haha! Unfortunately, there can only be one winner. You have all done well -as have the contestants who have been eliminated prior to this round - and we have enjoyed hearing you perform! THANKS FOR BEING PART OF SHELBYIDOL! It takes a LOT of guts!! IF you are not chosen as the winner on 7/25 then you have certainly proven yourself as a worthy competitor! So RELAX! Enjoy the fact that you made it to level that you did and don't take things too seriously! At these shows the Judges are merely giving their opinion about which PERFORMANCE they think was the best that night - not whether or not you have musical talent or a future in signing.
PERSONAL INFO: We'll have some questions for you at the 7/21 rehearsal so be thinking about things that make you UNIQUE!
Song Choice on July 25th: You can use music and hand held instruments at the 7/25 show. Music should be in CD format with YOUR NAME clearly written on the CD for both songs along with the number and name of the song you are singing. You should RESERVE your song choices by e-mailing the info to gmorgan@shelbyroadrunners.com. Reservations are listed below -first come first serve - if someone has reserved a song, you can't sing that one. If you do NOT reserve your song then you are taking a chance of someone else coming prepared to sing the same song - which we can't allow at this show.
